Agriculture Learning and Resource Center

In Thaha Municipality, where agriculture remains a primary livelihood yet is often limited by traditional practices and low productivity, Being Youth is initiating the Agriculture Learning and Resource Center as a long-term solution to strengthen sustainable farming and youth engagement. With the support of ONGD-FNEL, this initiative aims to transform agriculture into a knowledge-driven, climate-resilient, and economically viable sector. The center is envisioned as a practical learning hub where farmers and young people can access hands-on training, technical guidance, and demonstration-based learning. It will focus on promoting organic farming practices, including composting, soil management, integrated pest control, and efficient water use techniques such as mulching.

A key priority of the center is to engage youth in agriculture, shifting perceptions of farming from subsistence work to a viable and innovative livelihood. Through training, mentorship, and exposure to improved techniques, young people will be encouraged to explore agriculture as a sustainable career option. In addition, the Agriculture Learning and Resource Center will serve as a resource and support platform, connecting farmers with technical experts, local markets, and agricultural inputs while creating opportunities for knowledge-sharing within the community and strengthening collaboration and collective growth. Overall, the initiative aims to build a sustainable agricultural ecosystem that increases income, enhances food security, and empowers communities by combining traditional knowledge with modern practices, ultimately playing a vital role in fostering long-term resilience and rural development in Thaha Municipality.
