Transforming Education in Thaha Municipality

In Thaha Municipality, access to quality education is often limited by geography, economic hardship, and lack of resources. Recognizing these challenges, Being Youth, with the support of ONGD-FNEL, has been actively working to improve both the quality and accessibility of education through targeted, community-driven interventions.

Agriculture Learning and Resource Center

Being Youth, with the support of ONGD-FNEL, is establishing an Agriculture Learning and Resource Center in Thaha Municipality to promote sustainable, climate-resilient, and productive farming while engaging youth in agriculture.

Learning Hub

Provides hands-on training, demonstrations, and technical guidance for farmers and youth.

Sustainable Practices

Promotes organic farming, composting, soil management, pest control, and efficient water use.

Youth Engagement

Encourages youth to explore agriculture as a modern and viable career through training and mentorship.

Resource Support

Connects farmers with experts, markets, and agricultural inputs while encouraging community knowledge sharing.

The initiative aims to strengthen food security, increase income, and build a sustainable agricultural ecosystem by combining traditional knowledge with modern practices.

Women’s Health in Nepal

In Nepal, inadequate health facilities, unhygienic living conditions, and gender inequality limit women’s access to healthcare and decision-making. Patriarchal norms and low literacy further contribute to poor health outcomes among women and girls.

Health Challenges

High prevalence of uterine prolapse, cervical cancer, and untreated reproductive health issues due to lack of awareness, access, and financial constraints.

Uterine Prolapse

Around 10% of women are affected. Unlike global cases occurring post-menopause, many Nepalese women experience it in their 20s and 30s due to socio-cultural factors.

Cervical Cancer

One of the most common cancers among women. Thousands of new cases and deaths occur annually, especially in remote areas where diagnosis and treatment are limited.

Our Initiative

Being Youth organizes 2–3 free women’s health camps in underserved communities, providing screening, awareness, referrals, and preventive care to improve women's health.

These initiatives aim to reduce health risks, increase awareness, and ensure better access to healthcare services for women and girls across Nepal.

Skill Development for Sustainable Livelihoods

In Thaha Municipality, limited employment opportunities and economic hardship affect rural communities, especially women and youth. Being Youth, with the support of ONGD-FNEL, has implemented skill development programs to promote sustainable livelihoods using local resources.

Women’s Sewing Training

Women are trained in garment making, including drafting, cutting, and stitching. Participants produce school uniforms and fashion garments.

Employment & Income

Thaha Garment has been established, employing 7 women who earn NPR 12,000–15,000 monthly, improving financial independence and confidence.

Hemp & Allo Fiber Training

11 participants were trained in fiber extraction using eco-friendly local resources, along with a provided extraction machine.

Impact

The initiative strengthens entrepreneurship, diversifies income sources, and promotes sustainable and traditional skills for long-term community development.

By empowering both women and men with practical skills, these programs are building economic resilience and supporting sustainable livelihoods in Thaha Municipality.
